Here is the fourth and final point.
Not only the consequences God respects, but also the Control God retains, lest you think God has lost control because there are people out of control, I want to reassure you God is still in control. Whenever man rules, God overrules. Isaiah 40:23 says “He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless. Scarcely shall they be planted, scarcely shall they be sown, scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth, when He will also blow on them, and they will wither. And the whirlwind will take them away like stubble.” Politicians come and politicians go but God endures. God is the King of kings. Psalms 47:7-9 “God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne. The princes of the people have gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham. For the shield of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.”
That includes all the nations. We didn’t vote him in and we will surely not impeach Him and vote Him out. He is King forever where he does not rule, even if American’s turn their backs on God, if Americans adopt slogans like “Don’t believe in God”, or “it’s the economy stupid.” If we do this and vote our wallets rather than our conscious and do not let God’s will be done, even where God does not rule God will over rule. Psalms 33:10-12 “The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of this heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Even ungodly rulers become instruments in the hands of Almighty God. Proverbs 21:1 “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water, He turns it wherever He wishes.”
Even when wicked men with wicked imaginations stand on their own two feet and stick out their chest and shake their fist at Almighty God and make wicked decrees, God still rules from heaven. He still reigns as King of king’s and Lord of lord’s. Just as he used pharaoh in the Old Testament, just as he used the Persian king Cyrus, just as he used Pilate when Jesus was condemned. Jesus said to Pilate you don’t have any power which is given to you but by above.

Wherever man rules, God still overrules.
The Character that God requires.
The Choice that God respects.
The Consequences that God reveals.
The Control that God retains.
