It Pays To Listen To Advice
Doesn't this advice sound familiar?
"And Saul said, Who are You, Lord? And He said, I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting. It is dangerous and it will turn out badly for you to keep kicking against the goad [to offer vain and perilous resistance]"
Try Acts 5: 38-39
"Now in the present case let me say to you, stand off (withdraw) from these men and let them alone. For if this doctrine or purpose or undertaking or movement is of human origin, it will fail (be overthrown and come to nothing);39 But if it is of God, you will not be able to stop or overthrow or destroy them; you might even be found fighting against God!"
If only Saul had taken his mentor - Rabbi Gamaliel's advice!!!
Taking advice can be difficult. But lay down your pride or you could find yourself really sorry that you didn't.
And remember, God can give us advice through some unexpected places... like non-Christian friends and family, etc.
