Bold Prayer
Peter prays a very bold prayer "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up". Immediately Aeneas got up. All those who lived there say him and turned to the Lord.
When I see a need like this paralytic, do I just pass by hoping not to make eye contact? or perhaps toss a few coins into his hat? Do I have faith to speak a bold prayer like Peter did?
What about when someone asks me to pray healing for them? Do I pray a bold prayer like Peter's, or am I more likely to pray something like this: "Lord, if it is your will, please heal this person. But if it's not, may your grace be sufficient."
In light of Peter's prayer, that cover-all-bases prayer seems totally void of faith. What if we prayed bold prayers of faith like Peter in obedience to the Holy Spirit? Would dramatic healings take place? Would those who saw it happen turn to the Lord?
Lord, help me pray bold prayers, not just as words to try to manipulate you into answering, but as your Holy Spirit leads to that lost people would turn to you as a a result.
