Christ's healing power. He makes all things new.
It almost seems like somebody else's life, the crazy, insane, sex, drugs and rock'n'roll lifestyle that I led for so many years. Again I completely identify with the Apostle Paul in this scripture, as he describes the new start that exists for all of us when we accept Jesus Christ into our lives as our saviour and king.
It was actually easier than I imagined it would be to change since I renewed my faith all those years ago now. Friends and acquaintances I had that were based on dysfunctional behaviours just fell to the wayside once it was clear that I had been saved. It wasn't so much that people avoided me, but it was more of a mutual dissembling of relationships that didn't have any meaning once the facade of the lifestyle was removed. It amazes me now to realize what simple creatures we really are when it comes down to how quickly we can be released from something that we thought was inescapable when we were caught inside of it. Most spiritual prisons are self-made. Once we're stuck in a situation, we feel helpless to change it for some reason. The fact of the matter is that it's actually both the simplest thing I've ever done, and at the same time the most challenging and difficult in some repsects.
The secret is the power of the Holy Spirit, the love of Jesus Christ, and the Word of Almighty God. That's what makes all things simple again. We become like a child, yet we grow in spiritual maturity. It's a miracle.
