2 Chronicles 35:1 MSG

As I read 2 chronicles 35:5 and hear of all the preparations that they made to create the worship that God wanted Old Testament style, it makes me question what we are doing as individuals coming to our place of worship. Obviously with Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice, bringing bulls and sheep is no longer needed, but what should we bring? We know that the tithe is one thing God has asked us to bring, and I think of how me writing a check or paying it online is nowhere near as troublesome as I imagine rounding up the best bull for sacrifice would be. We think getting the kids ready is hard enough! It is not how hard the sacrifice is (and thats not to say being committed to giving that required 10% isn't hard), but it is the heart in which we bring it in. I'm not just talking about being a cheerful giver, I'm talking about the preparation of worship. The church staff/temple workers do there part to create an atmosphere for worship (prepping the bulls if you will), but besides writing our check, or getting the family ready for church, what are we doing. Do we have a good attitude about it? Are we in a hurry and anxious to catch the game? Have we made Sunday/Saturday a day that we fit in worship along with everything else we ned to get done before the work week begins, or have we been preparing ourselves? Reading the preparations 2 Chrons 35 makes me appreciate what the church staff of the local church does and makes me want to prepare and want to have the mindset of preparing for the time we get to worship...
