Acts 9:1-2 NKJV

Take a minute to think back to what you were before Christ saved you? Think back to how you lived your life, not only in "rebellion to God", but even as "an enemy of God" through your evil deeds. While not a pleasant memory, remembering the past can be good for us on occasion to bring perspective!

Reading here in Acts 9 of who the Apostle Paul used to be, it is truly mind-blowing to see who He became in Christ! Talk about a "new creation in Christ"! This guy used to be an anti-Christ to the core! As a zealous Jew, he was completely opposed to this new, "counter-Jewish" way called Christianity! And here, before his conversion, we find him still threatening and murdering as many of the disciples of the Lord as he could! This man was on a mission to destroy, to wipe out Christians!

What a difference Jesus makes in our lives! Truly, the apostle Paul was to be an example, a trophy of what God was not only willing to do, but what He was able to do in the lives of men! Yes, no one is beyond the love and the power of God to redeem and restore! If God could save the apostle Paul, he could save anyone! If God could "clean off and use" the apostle Paul, He could use anyone! The same is true of you and me...

Father, thank You for this mornings reminder of who i once was. Thank you for loving and saving me. And, thank You for calling me to serve You...what a privilege! Help me to live a life of full worship and full commitment to You today in response. And, help me to remember that no one is beyond Your reach...
