Ezra 5:1 MSG

so this is what i got out of ezra 5 and 6 starting with vs 2 it doesn't matter what your spiritual gifts are, you work in the temple, rebuilding Gods house. Just like the prophets Haggai and Zechariah. There spiritual gifts were prophecy, but the bible says They were leading people and working, like hard labor, stacking stones style. They weren't just sitting in a dark room waiting for God to speak so they could deliver the message. Which i think we all limit ourselves when we think we know our spiritual giftings. (Are prayer warriors stacking chairs after service, or People that can perform miracles, are they tithing or encourging anyone? i know i neglect my gifts)

next thought vs8 the report was "the work is going on with great energy and in good time" Translation: everyone is excited and getting it done fast. So, how do we help our leaders build the kingdom of God? This whole thing is parallel, working in the temple, rebuilding Gods house is the like serving in the church and basicly getting people saved (rebuilding Gods house). I think it explains in the next few verses that we can help The Church, not just our church, but The Church by 1. Giving, we HAVE to give our tithe without delay, and give offerings as we are led by the spirit. We have to be diligent, because the work is going on with great energy and in good time. I don't want to be a person that holds up a plan, especially Gods plan. 2. We have to give our church whatever they need for worship without delay. so what is that for us? I'm thinking participation or just comming in with an attitude of worship to contribute to the atmosphere, because God inhabits the praises of his people. Giving is definately included in this. And the bile said give them whatever they request. What is being requested? Does your praise and worship leader have a big goofy smile and says, "now clap like this" and you feel like the biggest idiot clapping like that? Just clap, nobody is looking at you. Are they asking us to raise our hands from the stage and we resist because it's way uncomfortable?

Lets Contribute to our church, and The Church (Gods people) because verse 11 scares the crap out me. "Anyone who violates this order is to be impaled on a timber torn out of his own house, and the house itself made a manure pit." Thank God for Jesus and that we dont live in those times, but again translation: when you dont do what you are supposed to do, it will lead to death, not physical, spiritual death, and dead christians' lives turn into a big mess and it REALLY stinks. Nobody wants to be a stinky dead guy.

I'm never writing a contribution this long again. ha
