Never more important in this day and age
This passage (1 Peter 3:15) was one of the first passages I grabbed hold of when I became a Christian and it continues to be important to me now. The main reason being is that I hear a lot of people who question the inerrancy of the Bible and choose not to believe in God becasue they are unwilling to look further. That is why I think it is our job to do all of the research so that we can be prepared for those questions when they come up.
