Blameless vs. Sinless
It is interesting that David claims to be blameless before God, despite the sins he has obviously committed. In order to understand this, I think we must look at the spirit or purpose of this chapter. David is praising God and trying to give God all of the credit for his accomplishments. He uses the words blameless to justify the position that God has given him, not as a claim to be sinless. David understands that God has forgiven him after he repented of his sins. This is a song of praise to boast about God, not to be self righteous.
I don't think that many people can truly understand the complexities of a king. There is a certain amount of arrogance you would constantly battle. This song is an opportunity for David to praise God for all that he has in life.
