I Like It Here;)
However, it seemed good to Silas to remain there...
Earlier in the passage, and at the Jerusalem Council the Bible says...it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us and so forth...
but here we're told (only) that it seemed good to Silas. Then just a few verses later, following the blow-up between Paul and Barnabas, Silas is chosen by Paul the Apostle to travel back to the churches he started on that first mission. What seemed to look like a good idea was a God-idea. The cool thing to me (and this is not new but great to reconsider today) is that this supernatural guidance and direction was discovered through the simple desires of Silas. What was it about Anitoch that appealed to him? Could've been the setting, the city, the people, the terrain, the food, the fun??? I don't know, but am glad that God works, in my seemingly natural desires, great things. I am sure it was cool for Silas to find himself in the middle of God's plan, and thinking to himself, How fluid and alive it is to walk with God. God is guiding even when i am unaware of it!
It also appears that the leaders in Jerusalem kept a light touch on the guys - they were free to move about as the Lord desired.
So Father, let me today just relax and enjoy and trust that You are leading and guiding at that You'll do it even through my desires that could be thought by some to be "carnal/natural"! Make me aware of those inner stirrings (and thank You that you do) that is You moving and give me the freedom and the faith to step out, stay or move!
Also, father help me to keep a light touch on those who are Yours! Help me be the wind in their sails when they sense, however simple the sense may be, to do something or go somewhere.
