who’s intimidating who?
I love Nehemiah’s response to the false prophet. Here you have a false messenger sent to try and even use the temple as a cover to and an excuse to stop doing what God had put in his heart to do and rebuild the temple. He was trying to intimidate (vs13) and scare him into stopping progress. But Nehemiah recognized this for what it was and knew that if someone was meant to take his life not even the temple would be a safe place. He had his orders from God and hiding at the place of worship would not be the answer.
This scripture reminds me of what can as has so easily happened in my life. I get caught up doing the work of the ministry and comfortable when I know at times that God is asking me to do more. This could have easily been Nehemiah’s story just stay in the temple serve and avoid the enemies attacks. But He chooses to put himself out there with his people in harm’s way and as a result they rebuilt the wall in just 52 days and it was the enemy that was intimidated not them.
