Hurt So Good!
If young Timothy teaches us anything..he teaches us that to follow Christ comes with a price!
Something must've had this boy's heart for him to be willing to endure so much to do God's will! It was a sacrifice for sure, but I am sure that once the pain was gone and the journey begun...it was all just a distant memory! Jesus said that a woman in the very throws of childbirth immediately forgets the pain for the ....joy! What follows is so wonderfully superiour that all that was "lost" is counted as nothing!
So what's it gonna cost to follow Jesus? What will we have to give up to be where He wants to be and do what he wants us to do...and experience what He wants us to experience? Whatever it is, it may hurt, at least for a bit? But the hurt is so good being that on the other side of sacrifice are riches of life that can only be experienced by those who are willing to lay down whatever it is for His will to be done.
Father thank You for the things you've called me to lay down and say goodbye to for the sake of doing your will and living the adventure of a lifetime with You! Looking back what was once considered a sacrifice is now counted as nothing! You have repaid in such a way that it's ridiculous for me to think i have ever really sacrificed anything to follow You!
Help me today to do the thing that i don't want to do, but that i know i have to do..to remain with You in the way!
