Since I first heard this song, the phrase "lovers in our heads" seemed like such a strange way to describe our sin to me. As I have listen to this song over and over (since it has taken me over a week I have listen to this song more than I typically do) the words have resonated with me. Oh how many "loves" do I hide in my head. I believe that this goes deeper that loves in the marital meaning; anything that we desire more than God, becomes a lover to us. My wife jokingly calls my iMac (and now my iPod Touch) my mistress because I am constantly thinking of something that I just have to do that makes me lose all track of time.
