Assurance
The Amplified Bible uses an interesting phrase in verse 7, "one's soul assured of its salvation." It got me me thinking about the verses prior to it. They really do give us "tips" on how to be assured of our salvation. I've said many times, our assurance of salvation is not in any kind of doctrine, but rather in our relationship with Christ. I speak from experience.
So what are some traits of a close relationship with Christ? Paul lists some pretty good ones in verses 4-7.
rejoice always in Christ - v4
live like the Lord is near and coming at any time - v5
don't about things; persistently pray about them - v6
this will bring peace and contentment - v7
