Just as Jesus willingly came to this world to die and set us free from the slavery of sin. So too this story in the Old Testament parallels the salvation from slavery of God’s people in Egypt. Just as Jesus performed miracles so that they would believe who He was and that God sent him so too did God send Moses with his power to perform miraculous works in His name. And Just as people still did not believe in Jesus in while He was here on this earth the Pharaoh also did not believe and hardened his heart even against the miraculous.
This scripture reminds me today first of all of God’s love for me and the miracle of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. It’s also reminds me to guard my heart and not to ever let it get hardened to the point of not seeing a miracle every day I live. God has so much life to offer me and love to show me.
God please open my eyes even wider today that I might see miracles all around me today.
