Proverbs 7
Again, wisdom and understanding are what we are to treasure.
We are told to avoid the prostitute and adulteress. This can mean literally to stay away from them, and can also mean anything that would draw us away from our fellowship with God.
Once we are saved, we are symbolically married to Christ. We are not to seek or follow after the prostitutes or worldly interests that would entice us and draw us away from our relationship with the God of the universe. Our fellowship with Him should be our first priority and we are not to do anything that could lead us back into the world.
Short and simple, but sometimes so hard to follow. A good book to read in regard to our fellowship with Christ is by Chip Ingram called 'Dare to Experience True Spirituality'. It's based on Romans 12: 1 and 2.
