Job 25:1-6 NASB

So... This is where that phrase came from! Indeed!

For all the negativity that Job's friends get for landing on the wrong side of "encouragement", you often find them saying some true things... they just don't apply to the situation correctly.

In comparison to God, man is, indeed, a worm, a maggot - actually, we can't even rate that high. There's no scale that can place us on the same page together: "God is here is grandeur, and we compare here" - it just can't be done. Like Paul said, even our righteousness is like filthy rags.

Bildad has the right idea about our place in the universe, and how our attempts to reach God are foolish. Unfortunately, that has nothing to do with Job's plight.
