23 Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’
Peter was giving his argument as to why Jesus was who He said he was and that they should listen to Him (Jesus) or be cut off from their people. He reminds them that even though they were responsible for His death they still have access to God and turn from their sinful ways.
This scripture reminds me of how important it is to stay close to God and in His Word daily. I have found through experience that when I drift away from Him there is this feeling of distance not only from God but His people. When I feel far from God, I feel ‘cut off’ or far from His people. What a reminder to listen to what God is telling me daily through His Word and in doing so it keeps me connected to His people.
