Galatians 6:8 NIV84

In Galations 6:8 it says that in whatever you do, you should do it for the Lord. If you do it for bad things, then you should not do it. But what exactly does that mean? When reading it, I think it means that he wants us to do it happily and lovingly. For example, if mom were to say..."Go Pick up your clothes on the ground." and you mumbled and grumbled and tossed them in the hamper, you're not only saddening your mom, but also God. He does not like to see that kind of attitude (nor does anybody else!)!. Plus, I also think that another thing applies. Lets say that you are really fuming, really angry and want to hit somebody. Mom comes along and says "Go Pick up your clothes on the floor.". You are angry and frustrated enough already that somebody speaking to you makes it even worse, and then you should probably just take some time to cool down and do it later when you feel better. God doesn't want to force you to do anything, but when you do it, to do it happily and for him. And it applies for picking up clothes and doing chores for parents too, because the Bible also says to honor your father and mother. So in conclusion, try do things when you feel it right, and when you do it, do it for God.
