Mark 10:1-52 MSG

There are a lot of hard truths in this chapter... how you have to be "innocent and trusting like a child" (goes against all we are brought up to be), hard for people who "have it all" to enter heaven, if you follow Jesus you will have trouble, etc.

These are "unappealing" aspects of Christianity in that they are not easy to achieve and bring earthly suffering. But the flip side is that they actually make our faith even more credible as something true, NOT something that someone would just make up. Because if you are "designing a religion from scratch" and want to get people to join, wouldn't you make it completely appealing and without anything that would be a "drawback"?
