1 Chronicles 6
1 The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.2 And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.3 And the children of Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.4 Eleazar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua,5 and Abishua begat Bukki, and Bukki begat Uzzi,6 and Uzzi begat Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begat Meraioth,7 Meraioth begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,8 and Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz,9 and Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan,10 and Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest’s office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem),11 and Azariah begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,12 and Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum,13 and Shallum begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begat Azariah,14 and Azariah begat Seraiah, and Seraiah begat Jehozadak;15 And Jehozadak went into captivity, when Jehovah carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
16 The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.17 And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.18 And the sons of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ houses.20 Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,21 Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeatherai his son.22 The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,23 Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son,24 Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.25 And the sons of Elkanah: Amasai, and Ahimoth.26 As for Elkanah, the sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, and Nahath his son,27 Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.28 And the sons of Samuel: the first-born Joel, and the second Abijah.29 The sons of Merari: Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,30 Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.
31 And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of Jehovah, after that the ark had rest.32 And they ministered with song before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, until Solomon had built the house of Jehovah in Jerusalem: and they waited on their office according to their order.33 And these are they that waited, and their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,34 the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,35 the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,36 the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,37 the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,38 the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.39 And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,40 the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,41 the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,42 the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,43 the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.44 And on the left hand their brethren the sons of Merari: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,45 the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,46 the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,47 the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.48 And their brethren the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
49 But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of burnt-offering, and upon the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.50 And these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,51 Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,52 Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,53 Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.
54 Now these are their dwelling-places according to their encampments in their borders: to the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites (for theirs was the first lot),55 to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah, and the suburbs thereof round about it;56 but the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.57 And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge, Hebron; Libnah also with its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa with its suburbs,58 and Hilen with its suburbs, Debir with its suburbs,59 and Ashan with its suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with its suburbs;60 and out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba with its suburbs, and Allemeth with its suburbs, and Anathoth with its suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.
61 And unto the rest of the sons of Kohath were given by lot, out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.62 And to the sons of Gershom, according to their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.63 Unto the sons of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.64 And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with their suburbs.65 And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.
66 And some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their borders out of the tribe of Ephraim.67 And they gave unto them the cities of refuge, Shechem in the hill-country of Ephraim with its suburbs; Gezer also with its suburbs,68 and Jokmeam with its suburbs, and Beth-horon with its suburbs,69 and Aijalon with its suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with its suburbs;70 and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Aner with its suburbs, and Bileam with its suburbs, for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.
71 Unto the sons of Gershom were given, out of the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its suburbs, and Ashtaroth with its suburbs;72 and out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh with its suburbs, Daberath with its suburbs,73 and Ramoth with its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs;74 and out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal with its suburbs, and Abdon with its suburbs,75 and Hukok with its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs;76 and out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, and Hammon with its suburbs, and Kiriathaim with its suburbs.
77 Unto the rest of the Levites, the sons of Merari, were given, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono with its suburbs, Tabor with its suburbs;78 and beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, were given them, out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jahzah with its suburbs,79 and Kedemoth with its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs;80 and out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, and Mahanaim with its suburbs,81 and Heshbon with its suburbs, and Jazer with its suburbs.

레위의 자손들
1 레위의 아들은 게르손, 고핫, 므라리이며,
2 고핫의 아들은 아므람, 이스할, 헤브 론, 웃시엘이었다.
3 아므람에게는 아들 둘과 딸 하나가 있었는데 아들은 아론과 모세였고 딸은 미리암이었다. 그리고 아론의 아들은 나답, 아비후, 엘르아살, 이다말이었다.
4 엘르아살은 비느하스를 낳았고 비느하스는 아비수아를,
5 아비수아는 북기를, 북기는 웃시를,
6 웃시는 스라히야를, 스라히야는 므라욧을,
7 므라욧은 아마랴를, 아마랴는 아히둡을,
8 아히둡은 사독을, 사독은 아히마아스를,
9 아히마아스는 아사랴를, 아사랴는 요하난을,
10 요하난은 예루살렘에 있는 솔로몬 성전의 제사장이었던 아사랴를,
11 아사랴는 아마랴를, 아마랴는 아히둡을,
12 아히둡은 사독을, 사독은 살룸을,
13 살룸은 힐기야를, 힐기야는 아사랴를,
14 아사랴는 스라야를, 스라야는 여호사닥을 낳았으며,
15 여호와께서 유다와 이스라엘 백성을 느부갓네살의 포로가 되게 하셨을 때 이 여호사닥도 포로로 잡혀갔다.
16 앞서 말한 대로 레위의 아들은 게르손, 고핫, 므라리이며
17 게르손의 아들은 립니와 시므이이고
18 고핫의 아들은 아므람, 이스할, 헤브론, 웃시엘이며
19 므라리의 아들은 마흘리와 무시였다.
20 그리고 게르손 집안의 족보를 세대순으로 나열하면 립니, 야핫, 심마,
21 요아, 잇도, 세라, 여아드래이다.
22 고핫 집안의 족보를 세대순으로 나열하면 암미나답, 고라, 앗실,
23 엘가나, 에비아삽, 앗실,
24 다핫, 우리엘, 웃시야, 사울이다.
25 그리고 엘가나에게는 아마새와 아히못이라는 두 아들이 있었다.
26 아히못의 후손들을 세대순으로 나열하면 엘가나, 소배, 나핫,
27 엘리압, 여로함, 엘가나이다.
28 사무엘에게는 두 아들이 있었는데 큰 아들은 요엘이며, 작은 아들은 아비야였다.
29 그리고 므라리 집안의 족보를 세대순으로 나열하면 마흘리, 립니, 시므이, 웃사,
30 시므아, 학기야, 아사야이다.
성전의 성가대원들
31 다윗은 법궤를 안치한 후에 성막에서 하나님을 찬양할 성가대를 조직하였다.
32 그들은 솔로몬이 예루살렘에 성전을 세울 때까지 거기서 일정한 규정에 따라 그 일을 계속하였다.
33 그리고 성가대 대장은 고핫 집안의 헤만이었다. 그 조상들의 족보를 세대순으로 거슬러 올라가면 요엘, 사무엘,
34 엘가나 3세, 여로함, 엘리엘, 도아,
35 숩, 엘가나 2세, 마핫, 아마새,
36 엘가나 세, 요엘, 아사랴, 스바냐,
37 다핫, 앗실, 에비아삽, 고라,
38 이스할, 고핫, 레위, 야곱이다.
39 또 헤만의 보조자는 아삽이었으며 그는 헤만의 우측에 서서 일을 도왔다. 그의 족보를 세대순으로 거슬러 올라가면 베레갸, 시므아,
40 미가엘, 바아세야, 말기야,
41 에드니, 세라, 아다야,
42 에단, 심마, 시므이,
43 야핫, 게르손, 레위이다.
44 헤만의 또 다른 보조자는 에단이었으며 그는 므라리 집안의 대표자로서 헤만의 좌측에 서서 일을 도왔던 자이다. 그의 조상들을 세대순으로 거슬러 올라가면 기시, 압디, 말룩,
45 하사뱌, 아마샤, 힐기야,
46 암시, 바니, 세멜,
47 마흘리,무시, 므라리, 레위이다.
48 그리고 이들의 친척들인 다른 레위 사람들은 성막에서 다른 여러 가지 일을 맡고 있었다.
아론의 후손들
49 아론과 그의 후손들은 향단에서 분향하고 번제단에서 제물을 태워 제사를 드리며 하나님의 종 모세가 명령한 모든 규정에 따라 지성소에 관련된 일과 이스라엘 백성을 위해 속죄하는 일을 담당하였다.
50 그리고 아론의 족보를 세대순으로 나열하면 아론, 엘르아살, 비느하스, 아비수아,
51 북기, 웃시, 스라히야,
52 므라욧, 아마랴, 아히둡,
53 사독, 아히마아스이다.
레위 사람들의 주거지
54 고핫 집안에 속한 이들 아론 자손들은 제일 먼저 제비를 뽑아 자기들의 성과 땅을 얻었는데
55 그들은 유다 지파의 땅 중에서 헤브론과 그 주변 일대의 목초지를 얻었다.
56 그러나 그 성의 밭과 여러 부락은 여분네의 아들 갈렙에게 주어졌다.
57-59 그래서 이들 아론 자손들이 얻은 땅은 도피성 헤브론과 립나, 얏딜, 에스드모아, 힐렌, 드빌, 아산, 벧－세메스, 그리고 이 성들 주변 일대에 있는 목초지였다.
60 또 이들은 베냐민 지파의 땅에서도 그 주변에 목초지가 딸린 게바와 알레멧과 아나돗을 얻었으며 이들 고핫 자손들이 얻은 성은 모두 열세 성이었다.
61 그리고 고핫 자손의 나머지 사람들은 제비를 뽑아 요단강 서쪽에 있는 므낫세 반 지파의 땅에서 열 성을 얻었다.
62 게르손 자손들은 그 가족별로 제비를 뽑아 잇사갈, 아셀, 납달리, 그리고 바산에 있는 동쪽 므낫세 반 지파에게서 열세 성을 얻었다.
63 므라리 자손도 르우벤 지파와 갓 지파와 스불론 지파에게서 제비를 뽑아 열두 성을 얻었다.
64-65 이와 같이 이스라엘 사람들은 레위 자 손들이 살 성과 그 주변 목초지를 주었으며 레위 자손들은 위에서 말한 대로 유다 지파와 시므온 지파와 베냐민 지파에게서 제비를 뽑아 땅을 분배받았다.
66-69 고핫 자손의 일부 집안은 에브라임 지 파에게서 주변에 목초지가 딸린 성들을 얻었는데 그것들은 에브라임 산간 지대에 있는 도피성 세겜과 게셀, 욕므암, 벧－호론, 아얄론, 가드－림몬이었다.
70 그리고 고핫 자손의 나머지 집안들은 므낫세 서쪽 반 지파에게서 목초지가 딸린 아넬과 빌르암을 얻었다.
71 게르손 자손들은 여러 지파에게서 목초지가 딸린 성들을 얻었으며 그들이 므낫세 동쪽 반 지파에게서 얻은 땅은 바산의 골란과 아스다롯이며
72 잇사갈 지파에게서 얻은 땅은 게데스, 다브랏,
73 라못, 아넴이었고
74 아셀 지파에게서 얻은 땅은 마살, 압돈,
75 후곡, 르홉이었으며
76 납달리 지파에게서 얻은 땅은 갈릴리의 게데스, 함몬, 기랴다임이었다.
77 므라리 자손의 나머지 집안들도 몇 지파에게서 주변에 목초지가 딸린 성들을 얻었다. 그들은 스불론 지파에게서 림모노와 다볼을 얻었고
78 또 여리고 건너편의 요단강 동쪽을 차지한 르우벤 지파에게서 광야의 베셀, 야사,
79 그데못, 메바앗을 얻었으며
80 갓 지파에게서는 길르앗의 라못, 마하나임,
81 헤스본, 야셀을 얻었다.
