Genesis 9
1 AND GOD pronounced a blessing upon Noah and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.2 And the fear of you and the dread and terror of you shall be upon every beast of the land, every bird of the air, all that creeps upon the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are delivered into your hand.3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and as I gave you the green vegetables and plants, I give you everything.4 But you shall not eat flesh with the life of it, which is its blood.5 And surely for your lifeblood I will require an accounting; from every beast I will require it; and from man, from every man [who spills another’s lifeblood] I will require a reckoning.6 Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God He made man.7 And you, be fruitful and multiply; bring forth abundantly on the earth and multiply on it.8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying,9 Behold, I establish My covenant or pledge with you and with your descendants after you10 And with every living creature that is with you--whether the birds, the livestock, or the wild beasts of the earth along with you, as many as came out of the ark--every animal of the earth.11 I will establish My covenant or pledge with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood; neither shall there ever again be a flood to destroy the earth and make it corrupt.12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant (solemn pledge) which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations:13 I set My bow [rainbow] in the cloud, and it shall be a token or sign of a covenant or solemn pledge between Me and the earth.14 And it shall be that when I bring clouds over the earth and the bow [rainbow] is seen in the clouds,15 I will [earnestly] remember My covenant or solemn pledge which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters will no more become a flood to destroy and make all flesh corrupt.16 When the bow [rainbow] is in the clouds and I look upon it, I will [earnestly] remember the everlasting covenant or pledge between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.17 And God said to Noah, This [rainbow] is the token or sign of the covenant or solemn pledge which I have established between Me and all flesh upon the earth.18 The sons of Noah who went forth from the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan [born later].19 These are the three sons of Noah, and from them the whole earth was overspread and stocked with inhabitants.20 And Noah began to cultivate the ground, and he planted a vineyard.21 And he drank of the wine and became drunk, and he was uncovered and lay naked in his tent.22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, glanced at and saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside.23 So Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it upon the shoulders of both, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.24 When Noah awoke from his wine, and knew the thing which his youngest son had done to him,25 He exclaimed, Cursed be Canaan! He shall be the servant of servants to his brethren! 26 He also said, Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem! And blessed by the Lord my God be Shem! And let Canaan be his servant.27 May God enlarge Japheth; and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his servant.28 And Noah lived after the flood 350 years.29 All the days of Noah were 950 years, and he died.
창세기 9
하나님이 노아와 맺은 계약
1 하나님이 노아와 그의 아들들을 축복하여 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “너희는 자녀 를 많이 낳고 번성하여 땅을 가득 채워라.
2 땅의 모든 짐승과 공중의 새와 땅에 기는 생물과 바다의 고기가 모두 너희를 두려워하고 무서워할 것이다. 이 모든 것은 내가 다 너희에게 준 것이다.
3 내가 곡식과 채소를 너희 식물로 준 것처럼 살아서 움직이는 모든 동물도 너희 식물로 주겠다.
4 그러나 너희는 고기를 생피가 들어 있는 그대로 먹어서는 안 된다.
5-6 살인은 금물이다. 사람은 나의 모습대로 창조되었으므로 사람을 죽인 짐승이나 인간은 반드시 죽여야 한다.
7 너희는 자녀를 많이 낳고 온 땅에 번성하여라.”
8 하나님이 노아와 그의 아들들에게 다시 말씀하셨다.
9 “이제 내가 너희와 너희 후손과
10 그리고 너희와 함께 배에서 나온 모든 새와 짐승과 땅의 모든 생물들에게 약속한다.
11 내가 두 번 다시 홍수로 모든 생물을 멸종시키지 않겠다. 그러므로 온 땅을 휩쓰는 홍수가 다시는 없을 것이다.
12 내가 너희와 그리고 너희와 함께 있는 모든 생물들과 대대로 맺을 계약의 표는 이것이다.
13 내가 무지개를 구름 속에 두었으니 이것이 나와 세상 사이에 계약의 표가 될 것이다.
14 내가 땅에 구름을 보내 무지개가 구름 속에 나타나면
15 내가 너희와 모든 생물 사이에 맺은 계약을 기억하겠다. 홍수 때문에 생물이 전멸되는 일이 다시는 없을 것이다.
16 무지개가 구름 가운데 나타날 때마다 내가 그것을 보고 땅의 모든 생물과 맺은 나의 영원한 계약을 기억할 것이다.
17 이것이 바로 모든 생물과 맺은 계약의 표이다.”
노아의 세 아들
18 배에서 나온 노아의 아들들은 셈과 함과 야벳이었는데 함은 가나안의 아버지였다.
19 그리고 노아의 이 세 아들을 통해서 온 세상에 사람들이 퍼지게 되었다.
20 노아는 농사를 시작하여 포도나무를 심었다.
21 하루는 그가 포도주를 마시고 취하여 자기 천막 안에서 벌거벗은 채 누워 있었다.
22 가나안의 아버지인 함이 자기 아버지의 나체를 보고 밖으로 나가서 그 사실을 두 형제에게 말하였다.
23 그러자 셈과 야벳이 옷을 가져다가 어깨에 메고 뒷걸음질쳐서 들어가 아버지의 나체를 덮어 주고 계속 얼굴을 돌린 채 아버지의 나체를 보지 않았다.
24 노아는 술이 깬 후에 함이 자기에게 한 일을 알고
25 이렇게 말하였다. “가나안은 저주를 받아 자기 형제들에게 가장 천한 종이 되리라.
26 셈의 하나님 여호와를 찬양하라. 가나안은 셈의 종이 되기를 바라며
27 하나님이 야벳을 번창하게 하셔서 셈의 축복을 함께 누리게 하시고 가나안은 야벳의 종이 되기를 원하노라.”
28 홍수 후에도 노아는 350년을 더 살다가
29 950세에 죽었다.
