Psalm 106

1  PRAISE THE Lord! (Hallelujah!) O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever! 2  Who can put into words and tell the mighty deeds of the Lord? Or who can show forth all the praise [that is due Him]?3  Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who observe justice [treating others fairly] and who do right and are in right standing with God at all times.4  [Earnestly] remember me, O Lord, when You favor Your people! O visit me also when You deliver them, and grant me Your salvation!--5  That I may see and share the welfare of Your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, that I may glory with Your heritage.6  We have sinned, as did also our fathers; we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. 7  Our fathers in Egypt understood not nor appreciated Your miracles; they did not [earnestly] remember the multitude of Your mercies nor imprint Your loving-kindness [on their hearts], but they were rebellious and provoked the Lord at the sea, even at the Red Sea. 8  Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake [to prove the righteousness of the divine character], that He might make His mighty power known.9  He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it dried up; so He led them through the depths as through a pastureland. 10  And He saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the [Egyptian] enemy. 11  And the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left. 12  Then [Israel] believed His words [trusting in, relying on them]; they sang His praise.13  But they hastily forgot His works; they did not [earnestly] wait for His plans [to develop] regarding them,14  But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted and tried to restrain God [with their insistent desires] in the desert. 15  And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their souls and [thinned their numbers by] disease and death. 16  They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron [the high priest], the holy one of the Lord. 17  Therefore the earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and closed over the company of Abiram. 18  And a fire broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. 19  They made a calf in Horeb and worshiped a molten image. 20  Thus they exchanged Him Who was their Glory for the image of an ox that eats grass [they traded their Honor for the image of a calf]!21  They forgot God their Savior, Who had done such great things in Egypt,22  Wonders and miracles in the land of Ham, dreadful and awesome things at the Red Sea.23  Therefore He said He would destroy them. [And He would have done so] had not Moses, His chosen one, stepped into the breach before Him to turn away His threatening wrath. 24  Then they spurned and despised the pleasant and desirable land [Canaan]; they believed not His word [neither trusting in, relying on, nor holding to it];25  But they murmured in their tents and hearkened not to the voice of the Lord.26  Therefore He lifted up His hand [as if taking an oath] against them, that He would cause them to fall in the wilderness,27  Cast out their descendants among the nations, and scatter them in the lands [of the earth].28  They joined themselves also to the [idol] Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices [offered] to the lifeless [gods].29  Thus they provoked the Lord to anger with their practices, and a plague broke out among them.30  Then stood up Phinehas [the priest] and executed judgment, and so the plague was stayed. 31  And that was credited to him for righteousness (right doing and right standing with God) to all generations forever.32  They angered the Lord also at the waters of Meribah, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes; 33  For they provoked [Moses’] spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips.34  They did not destroy the [heathen] nations as the Lord commanded them,35  But mingled themselves with the [idolatrous] nations and learned their ways and works36  And served their idols, which were a snare to them.37  Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons 38  And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with their blood.39  Thus were they defiled by their own works, and they played the harlot and practiced idolatry with their own deeds [of idolatrous rites].40  Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against His people, insomuch that He abhorred and rejected His own heritage. 41  And He gave them into the hands of the [heathen] nations, and they that hated them ruled over them.42  Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under the hand of their foes.43  Many times did [God] deliver them, but they were rebellious in their counsel and sank low through their iniquity.44  Nevertheless He regarded their distress when He heard their cry;45  And He [earnestly] remembered for their sake His covenant and relented their sentence of evil [comforting and easing Himself] according to the abundance of His mercy and loving-kindness [when they cried out to Him].46  He also caused [Israel] to find sympathy among those who had carried them away captive.47  Deliver us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name and glory in praising You.48  Blessed (affectionately and gratefully praised) be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, Amen! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

시편 106

하나님의 자비와 이스라엘의 거역

1 할렐루야, 여호와께 감사하라. 그는 선하시며 그의 사랑은 영 원하다.

2 여호와께서 행하신 놀라운 일을 누가 다 말할 수 있으며 누가 그를 제대로 찬양할 수 있겠는가?

3 항상 공정하고 옳은 일을 행하는 자는 복 있는 사람이다.

4 여호와여, 주의 백성에게 은혜를 베푸실 때 나를 기억하시고 주께서 그들을 구원하실 때 나를 돌아보소서.

5 주의 백성이 번영하는 것을 내가 보게 하시고 나도 주의 나라의 기쁨을 누리고 주의 백성이 된 것을 그들과 함께 자랑하게 하소서.

6 우리도 우리 조상들처럼 범죄하여 악을 행하였습니다.

7 우리 조상들이 이집트에 있을 때 주의 놀라운 일을 깨닫지 못하며 주께서 수없이 베푸신 사랑을 기억하지 않고 홍해에서 주를 거역하였습니다.

8 그러나 여호와께서 자기 이름을 위해 그들을 구원하셨으니 그의 위대한 능력을 알게 하기 위해서였다.

9 그가 홍해를 꾸짖자 물이 말랐으니 그가 자기 백성을 인도하여 사막을 지나듯이 바다를 지나가게 하셨다.

10 저가 그들을 원수들의 손에서 구출하셨고

11 그 원수들은 바닷물에 휩쓸려 하나도 살아 남지 못하였다.

12 그러자 그들이 그의 약속을 믿고 그를 찬송하였다.

13 그러나 그들은 여호와께서 행하신 일을 곧 잊어버리고 그의 가르침을 기다리지 않았으며

14 광야에서 지나친 것을 요구하여 하나님을 시험하였다.

15 여호와께서는 그들이 요구한 것을 주셨으나 그들에게 무서운 질병을 보내셨다.

16 그들이 여호와의 거룩한 종 모세와 아론을 질투하였으므로

17 땅이 갈라져 다단을 삼키고 아비람과 그 일당을 덮어 버렸으며

18 하늘에서 불이 내려와 이 악한 무리들을 소멸하였다.

19 그들이 2시내산에서 송아지를 만들고 주조된 우상을 숭배하며

20 자기들의 영광을 풀을 뜯어먹는 소의 형상으로 바꾸었다.

21 그들이 자기들을 구원하신 하나님을 잊었으니 그는 이집트에서 위대한 일을 행하시고

22 함 땅에서 기적을, 홍해에서 놀라운 일을 행하신 분이시다.

23 여호와께서 자기 백성을 멸망시키겠다고 말씀하셨을 때 그의 택한 종 모세가 하나님 앞에 중재자로 나서서 그의 분노를 돌이켜 그들을 멸망시키지 않도록 하였다.

24 그들은 좋은 땅을 거절하고 하나님의 약속을 믿지 않았으며

25 자기들의 천막에서 불평하고 여호와께 순종하지 않았다.

26 그러므로 저가 그들을

27 광야에서 죽게 하고 그들의 후손을 전세계에 흩어 외국 땅에서 죽게 하겠다고 맹세하였다.

28 그들이 브올에서 바알의 제사에 참여하여 생명 없는 신들에게 제사한 음식을 먹고

29 그들의 악한 행위로 여호와를 노하게 하였으므로 그들에게 무서운 전염병이 발생하였다.

30 그러나 비느하스가 일어나 범죄한 자들을 처형하였으므로 재앙이 그쳤다.

31 이 일이 그의 의로운 행위로 인정되었으니 오는 세대에 영원히 기억되리라.

32 그들이 므리바에서 여호와를 노하게 하자 모세가 궁지에 빠졌으니

33 그들이 하나님의 성령을 거역하므로 모세가 생각 없이 경솔한 말을 하였음이라.

34 여호와께서 명령하신 대로 그들이 이방 민족들을 죽이지 않고

35 그들과 어울려 못된 풍습을 배우며

36 그들의 우상을 섬겼으니 그것이 그들에게 덫이 되고 말았다.

37 그들이 자기 자녀들을

38 가나안 우상들에게 제물로 바쳐 죄 없는 자식들을 죽였으니 그 땅이 피로 더럽혀졌다.

39 그들은 더러운 행위로 자신을 더럽혔으며 3우상을 섬김으로 창녀짓을 하였다.

40 그러므로 여호와께서 자기 백성에게 노하시고 그들을 아주 싫어하셔서

41 이방 나라들에게 넘겨 주셨으니 그들의 원수들이 그들을 지배하였다.

42 그래서 그들은 자기 원수들에게 압박을 당하고 그들에게 굴종하였다.

43 여호와께서 여러 번 자기 백성을 구출하셨으나 그들은 계속 그를 거역하다가 결국 죄로 망하게 되었다.

44 그러나 여호와께서는 그들이 부르짖는 소리를 들으시고 그들의 고통을 돌아보시며

45 그들과 맺은 계약을 기억하시고 그의 크신 사랑으로 마음을 돌이키셔서

46 그들을 포로로 잡아간 자들이 그들을 불쌍히 여기도록 하셨다.

47 우리 하나님 여호와여, 우리를 구원하소서. 여러 나라에서 우리를 모아 우리가 주께 감사하고 주의 거룩한 이름을 찬양하게 하소서.

48 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 찬양하라! 4지금부터 영원히 그를 찬양하라! 모든 백성들아, “아멘!” 하고 외쳐라. 5여호와를 찬양하라!
