Psalm 24

1 The earth is Jehovah’s, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein.

2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the floods.

3 Who shall ascend into the hill of Jehovah? And who shall stand in his holy place?

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; Who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood, And hath not sworn deceitfully.

5 He shall receive a blessing from Jehovah, And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is the generation of them that seek after him, That seek thy face, even Jacob. Selah

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; And be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors: And the King of glory will come in.

8 Who is the King of glory? Jehovah strong and mighty, Jehovah mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; Yea, lift them up, ye everlasting doors: And the King of glory will come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? Jehovah of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

1 Ein Psalm Davids.t / (Der Festchor, während er mit der Bundeslade den Berg Zion hinaufsteigt:) / Jahwe ist die Erde und was sie erfüllt, / Der Erdkreis mit seinen Bewohnern.t2 Denn er hat siet auf Meere gegründet / Und über Ströme sie aufgerichtet.t3 (Eine Einzelstimme:) / Wer darf Jahwes Berg besteigen, / Wer darf treten an seine heilige Stätte?4 (Der Festchor:) / Wer schuldlose Hände hatt und reines Herzens ist, / Wer nicht auf Lüge sinnt / Und nicht betrügerisch schwört —5 Der wird Segen empfangen von Jahwe / Und Hilfe vom Gott seines Heils.6 So sind, die nach ihm fragen: / Die dein Antlitz suchen, sind Jakob.t Sela.7 (Der Festchor oben vor den Toren der Zionsburg:) / Erhebt, ihr Tore, eure Häupter, / Ja, reckt euch empor, uralte Pforten,t / Damit der König der Ehren einziehe!8 (Eine Einzelstimme drinnen, die gleichsam eine Antwort der Tore ist:) / Wer ist denn der König der Ehren? / (Der Festchor:) / Jahwe ist's, ein Starker, ein Held, / Jahwe, ein Held im Streit!9 Erhebt, ihr Tore, eure Häupter, / Ja reckt euch empor, uralte Pforten, / Damit der König der Ehren einziehe!10 (Wieder die Einzelstimme drinnen:) / Wer ist denn der König der Ehren? / (Der Festchor draußen:) / Jahwe (der Herr) der Heerscharen,t er ist der König der Ehren. / Sela.
