Revelation 3
1 And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and thou art dead.2 Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have found no works of thine perfected before my God.3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear; and keep it, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.4 But thou hast a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments: and they shall walk with me in white; for they are worthy.5 He that overcometh shall thus be arrayed in white garments; and I will in no wise blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and none shall shut, and that shutteth and none openeth:8 I know thy works (behold, I have set before thee a door opened, which none can shut), that thou hast a little power, and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name.9 Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of them that say they are Jews, and they are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.10 Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that hour which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.11 I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no one take thy crown.12 He that overcometh, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out thence no more: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and mine own new name.13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.14 And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.16 So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art the wretched one and miserable and poor and blind and naked:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich; and white garments, that thou mayest clothe thyself, and that the shame of thy nakedness be not made manifest; and eyesalve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.21 He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
Offenbarung 3
1 Dem Engel der Gemeinde in Sardes schreibe: / So spricht, der die sieben Geister Gottes hatt und die sieben Sterne: / 'Ich kenne deine Werke: du lebst nur dem Namen nach;t in Wirklichkeit bist du tot!2 Werde wach und stärke das, was noch da ist, und was auch schon dem Tod nahe war! Denn ich habe deine Werke nicht völlig erfunden vor meinem Gott.3 Denke daran, mit welcher Lust du einst (das Wort) aufgenommen und gehört hast! Bewahre es und ändere deinen Sinn! Doch wachst du nicht, so will ich kommen wie ein Dieb, und du sollst nicht wissen, zu welcher Stunde ich über dich kommen werde.t4 Du hast indes noch einige Leute in Sardes, die ihre Kleidert nicht befleckt haben: die sollen mit mir wandeln in weißen Kleidern, denn sie sind es wert.5 Der Sieger soll mit weißen Kleidern geschmückt werden, und ich will seinen Namen nicht auslöschen aus dem Lebensbuch;t sondern ich werde seinen Namen bekennen vor meinem Vater und vor seinen Engeln.t6 Wer Ohren hat, der höre, was der Geist den Gemeinden sagt!'7 Dem Engel der Gemeinde in Philadelphia schreibe: / So spricht der Heilige, der Wahrhaftige, der den Schlüssel Davids hat, der öffnet, so daß niemand schließen kann, der schließt, so daß niemand öffnen darf;t8 'Ich kenne deine Werke! Sieh, ich habe dir eine Tür aufgetan, die niemand schließen kann.t Denn du hast nur eine kleine Kraft;t trotzdem hast du mein Wort festgehalten und meinen Namen nicht verleugnet.9 Sieh, ich führe dir (Anhänger) zu aus Satans Versammlung, aus dem Kreis derer, die sich Juden nennen; doch sie sind es nicht, sie lügen!t Sieh, ich will sie dahin bringen, daß sie kommen und sich zu deinen Füßen niederwerfen und erkennen, daß ich dich geliebt.t10 Weil du das Wort,t das zum geduldigen Warten auf mein Kommen mahnt, bewahrt hast, so will auch ich dich bewahren vor der Stunde der Versuchung,t die über den ganzen Weltkreis kommen soll, um die Erdbewohner zu versuchen.11 Ich komme bald! Halte fest, was du hast, damit dir niemand deine Krone raube!t12 Den Sieger will ich zu einer Säule in dem Tempel meines Gottes machen, und er soll seinen Platz nie mehr verlassen. Ich will auf ihnt schreiben den Namen meines Gottes und den Namen der Stadt meines Gottes, des neuen Jerusalems, das aus dem Himmel herniedersteigt von meinem Gott,t und meinen neuen Namen.t13 Wer Ohren hat, der höre, was der Geist den Gemeinden sagt!'14 Dem Engel der Gemeinde in Laodizea schreibe: / So spricht, der das Jawort ist,t der treue und wahrhaftige Zeuge,t der Anfang der Schöpfung Gottes:t15 'Ich kenne deine Werke: du bist weder kalt noch warm. Ach, daß du kalt oder warm wärst!16 So aber, weil du lau bist und weder kalt noch warm, will ich dich ausspeien aus meinem Mund.17 Du sagst: Ich bin reich, ich habe Schätze gewonnen und bedarf nichts! Und dabei weißt du nicht, daß gerade du elend bist und jämmerlich, arm, blind und bloß.18 Darum rate ich dir: kaufe von mir Gold,t wie es geglüht aus dem Feuer kommt, damit du reich werdest, und weiße Kleider zum Anziehen, damit sich nicht die Schande deiner Blöße offenbare, und Salbe zum Bestreichen deiner Augen, damit du sehen könnest!19 Alle, die ich liebhabe, die weise ich zurecht und züchtige ich.t So raffe dich denn auf zu neuem Eifer und ändere deinen Sinn!20 Sieh, ich stehe vor der Tür und klopfe an.t Wer meine Stimme hört und mir die Tür öffnet, bei dem will ich einkehren und das Mahl mit ihm halten, und er mit mir.t21 Dem Sieger will ich geben, mit mir auf meinem Thron zu sitzen,t wie auch ich den Sieg errungen habe und nun mit meinem Vater auf seinem Thron sitze.22 Wer Ohren hat, der höre, was der Geist den Gemeinden sagt!'"
