Putting God's Glory to Shame
Ps. 4:2: "O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah."
How can we, by our actions, put God's glory to shame? Man was made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26). This image includes His character, because an image is a likeness. Character and glory are synonymous, according to Romans 3:23. When we sin, we fall short of God's glory. That is, we fall short of His character of righteousness.
