No Second Chance After Death
Ps. 6:5 - "For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?"
This scriptures not only supports the doctrine of soul sleep (meaning that the dead are unconscious in their graves, awaiting the return of Jesus to be resurrected and taken to Heaven if they were followers of Jesus), it is also a powerful reminder that our eternal destiny lies in the way we live our lives here and now. Because after we die, there is no supplication that we can offer to the Lord in hopes to obtain pardon for our sins. All we have to look forward to is the execution of the judgment at the return of Jesus (2 Tim. 4:1).
