I Must Tell Jesus; Cry Out

The story of Blind Bartimaeus is only one of many stories of Hope, Faith, Healing and Deliverance that makes me think of the words to the Hymn "I MUST Tell JESUS"

Day and night Bartimaeus sat by the highway begging. He received temporary assistance probably in the form of food and coins. That was all the people could offer him. He needed more.

We too are sometimes like Bartimaeus, blind, lost, begging for help; begging the wrong people for the wrong things. Sometimes we are asking the right people for the right things, but they don't have the answer or the power to provide it. So we continue to sit by the highway.

But one day Blind Bartimaeus received a "vision" before he even received his sight. He heard that Jesus was passing by. He didn't beg for food or coins. He "cried out!" for something greater that he knew that the world couldn't give him, but that only Jesus could.

The people tried to shut him up. Perhaps they thought the beggar was merely begging for bread. But Bartimaeus refused to be quiet. He cried out even more! He knew that He MUST TELL JESUS. He had a bigger vision. He couldn't sit on the sidelines of the highway receiving only what the people gave him.

Jesus heard his cry and called him. Bartimaeus took off running! He threw off his garment of despair, and hopelessness. He threw off the chains that bound him to the highway. His mentality changed even before he received his healing and his sight. Those were outward signs of his faith! He already knew that Jesus was about to do a great work in his life eventhough he had not even yet asked. When he asked, Bartimaeus TOLD Jesus what he desired. Jesus gave him sight because of his faith.

We too must be like Bartimaeus. We must see the vision before we receive our sight. We must cry out and Tell Jesus, despite the voices and obstacles around us that try to keep us quiet and keep us wrapped up in a garment of despair by the sidelines. We cannot allow Jesus to pass us by. It is by seeking of God, our prayers and Faith that we are made whole.

God promises us that he hears our cries and he will answer us. Tell Jesus ALL of your burdens. Jesus can help you! Jesus alone!

I Must Tell Jesus. I Must Tell Jesus. I cannot bear my burdens alone. In my distress He kindly will help me, He ever loves and cares for His own.

I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
I cannot bear my burdens alone;
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.

I must tell Jesus all of my troubles;
He is a kind, compassionate Friend;
If I but ask Him, He will deliver,
And in my griefs with me He will blend.

Tempted and tried I need a great Savior,
One who can help my burdens to bear;
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus;
He all my cares and sorrows will share,
