Did God Participate

Can Satan control the weather? When reading these two verses, it seems that either he does or God participated actively in the test for Job.

I don't believe that Satan can control the weather but I do believe that God can give him permission as with the situation here.

Satan is powerful but not divine and in many instances I believe that we either under estimate him, or give him too much power in our thoughts. The best way to think of it is here. NOTHING Satan can do to me as a believer is not sifted through the love of God. God may allow him to test but ultimately God is my security and Satan can't. I know that leaving it at Satan can't, sounds weird but I didn't want to limit the thought. Against God Satan has no power and can't anything...

So this brings the question of the raging storms we have in our current situation. Does God use them? I once had a pastor (James Merritt) preach on this subject not long after Katrina and I have not forgotten what he said. Just as we were cursed through the sin of Adam and Eve, the earth was cursed too. I don't remember everything he said and I am sure it is online somewhere , but the point is that the sin of Adam and Eve really affected everyone and everything. Prior to the sin, there was no rain. And Eden being perfect, I bet the weather was wonderful - not too hot, not too cold etc. The animals were free to run and until the first sin, there was no bloodshed. Agree or disagree, it does make sense that just as sin causes death for us, it does for the earth too. All that to say that God does participate, but maybe not the way we imagine. Everything is filtered through his love for her and his desire to draw us closer.
