Power send

Luke 10:1-3, 17-20
After this, the Lord appointed 70 others, and He sent them ahead of Him in pairs to every town and place where He Himself was about to go. He told them: “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. Now go; I’m sending you out like lambs among wolves.
The Seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your name.”
He said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like a lightning flash. Look, I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing will ever harm you. However, don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Why did Jesus send the 70 with this authority? It says "He sent them ahead of Him in pairs to every town and place where He Himself was about to go." Jesus is wanting the message of the Kingdom of GOD to be known in all these places and He is going to preach in each one. Jesus sends these 70 out to prepare the hearts of the people to receive Him and His message. He tells them it will be dangerous and no matter how much love and power is demonstrated some will reject the message.

Jesus still wants to have His message proclaimed in every village, town and city in the whole world. Many now have never heard the name of Jesus and even more haven't heard of His love for them. Therefore since Jesus even today wants to go into every town and village and city so that His message of the Kingdom of GOD is known then I must go in love and power doing the same things that the 70 did. Just as they did I must also realize that there is nothing special about me from my own self that would cause these things to happen but rather the power of the Holy Spirit flowing through me that would cause His love to be known and these signs and wonders to happen. Jesus is still sending all of His followers out on commissions to show His incredible love to everyone on the planet. It is through His love that these signs and wonders will take place. The signs and wonders are merely small things compared to His love. Jesus wants all the world to know His love for them and it is my responsibility and privilege to take His love to the world. Will I mess up from time to time? Of course. Will I look like a fool from time to time? Most definitely. That must not stop me at all. All is for the glory of GOD.

GOD of awesome glory there is none like You. You are King of kings and LORD of lords. I praise You LORD of Hosts. Please forgive me when I don't feel commissioned by You to go to the world and show Your love and power so that Your message of the Kingdom may be known. I ask that You please show me how to be fearless in showing Your love to all those around me so that You, Jesus, may show Your presence and Your power. Give me the boldness to speak into people's lives as You guide me. I cannot do this or learn this without You. Please take my life and let it be wholly consecrated and dedicated to the work of Your Kingdom. May I never act as though I were my own person anymore but may I be Christ to everyone around me, submitting to Your will. All glory be Yours. I love You. In Jesus' name amen.
