Seven Days

The Passover festival was seven days in length, with emphasis placed on the first and last days.

I am immediately thrown into the passion week of Jesus.

One of the most monumental weeks of the entire year for any Jew, was the week that Jesus was inching toward death for the sins of all mankind. The imagery is unbelievable with the blood of the passover lamb.

This is why the Jewish leaders wanted to get the crucifixion of Jesus done before Saturday. It was a holy day. They couldn't be running up and down Golgotha, checking to see if he was dead yet.

"Jesus died once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous... that he might bring us to God." - 1 Peter 3:18

I am so glad that Jesus sacrificed so much for me, and the fact that it happened during Passover week makes it so much more meaningful.
