Daily as we walk with Christ by The Holy Spirit living in us,we may face potentially agressive and hostile people,seeking to destroy us.
This is why we are given choice.
When we choose to live pleasing to Father God it means we live obediently,and that means choosing to turn the other cheek,or walking two miles with your enemy and not only one.
Remember we are not wise when we allow abuse,yet we must recognise that to be selfless requires trust and faith in Creator YHWH who knows the end of a matter from the beginning.
Even after (30) thirty years i am learning the ways of YHWH.
The foundational key is to go from learning to living.
So today when your mother kills your character,or your drunken father slurs abusively,or your husband or your wife,maybe your brother or your sister or even all of them attack you,you are given choice to turn the anger away by a soft answer,or to feed it by the poison of their intent.
Choose life.
