Seeking

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.

Just now as I finished my evening devotional time I realized that I've felt a bit gloomy today. There's no specific reason for me to be downcast. In fact, our plumbing issues were fixed today, and that is certainly cause for a little cheer.

It occurred to me that I'm feeling blue because there's been no recent progress in my "situation". It's been a roller coaster ride for sure, but the last couple days have been... for lack of a better word, calm. Funny thing is that I've prayed for His peace in this matter, yet when I am blessed with a peaceful day or two- I get depressed!

So as I was sitting here I noticed a song in my head. I barely even recall it, but a long time ago when I attended vacation Bible school at my Great Aunt's church, we sang this song that went "seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.." So, my thought is this: I pray for God to fix my situation, I pray for peace about the situation, I pray for all sorts of things regarding the situation! What I need to do is seek His kingdom, seek his righteousness, seek HIM!

And as the song goes, all the rest will be added unto me. I'd just like to say Thank God for every little bit of wisdom he grants me.
