Each day is a day closer to Jesus' return
Luke wrote a historical narrative about the birth of the church and the Holy Spirit's power being unleashed for Theophilus. The disciple watched Jesus ascend into heaven. They stood transfixed, looking at the sky. Two angels appeared and told them to move on. They would one day see Jesus return to the earth.
Jesus will return. He will come to judge the living and the dead. The time for repentance and turning from sins will be over. Revelation talks about the hardening of people's hearts in the last days and the judgment that will fall upon them.
But it also gives a glimpse into what heaven is like. It talks about how glorious it will be in the presence of Jesus and the Father. He will have faithful children who will persevere through whatever trials they face.
Whatever situation or trial we are going through, God is with us. He indwells us with His Spirit. He can relate to our suffering and temptations because Jesus was one of us. One day, Jesus will return and reset the world to the way it should be. Share the good news with others. Each day is a day closer to Jesus' glorious return.
