In the Mosaic era, the only way people had any contact with God was through His own appointed (the 'greatest' if you will). The people of Israel had these elect pray, offer sacrifice, offer guidance, and repent on their behalf.. There was no personal relationship.
Contrary to this covenant, God established a new one thru his son JC, where now we can have a personal relationship with God himself. There is no longer a need for a sin offering thanks to our Big Bro JC who offered an ultimate sacrifice that would take care of our sins and iniquities (for those in union with him). Now we can pray, seek guidance, repent and worship the Lord for ourselves. We also can get to see God's amazing work in our lives due to our answered prayers. We finally can get to experience for ourselves, the comforting and peaceful ambience of God's presence when we are alone and dismayed.. And oh, how wonderful those moments are for me... Savor you moments with the Lord brethren!
