Hard hearts?
The verses in this chapter referring to the treatment of slaves at first glance is very disturbing! But I'm believing here that God knowing slavery would continue is giving some law concerning fair treatment? I mean
The 10 commandments say do not kill but we still kill so there also follows rules on what the consequences would be for when we do and was it premeditated or accident and so forth......God says not to divorce but Moses allowed because of their hard hearts...so again I'm have to think these are rules for handling slaves but in no one condoning !
