Social justice and worship

The author is either David or inspired by him. He contrasts the behavior of the fool, who denies God, and the poor, who fear God. The wicked fools oppress the poor and teach others not to fear God. But God is with the poor and the righteous. The psalmist calls for restoration of Israel, which includes justice for the poor and the fear The Lord.

We all must fear God. If we do, we obey His commands. We are to love God with everything we have. Then we are to live others as ourselves. The fool does neither. Loving God and others means actions and not just words. We are to take care of others as an act of worship.
