The last shall be first
The last shall be first!
Joshua 19:1-51
Joshua ...what a leader you were!
I wonder how many leaders today would wait for everyone to receive their lot of land first, before taking theirs.
You didn't take, you didn't dictate, you waited for them to get theirs before you settled into yours, and it's an example for us all!
You warned the people to drive out the Canaanites, but they said they couldn't get them ALL out. Like God does, you let them make their own mistakes.
I don't see that you ever married or had children. I think you probably didn't have time. Surely it would be recorded wouldn't it?
I would've liked to been under your leadership Joshua. If you could see the leadership nowadays you would probably shake your head.
Our leaders take what they want.
They spend money we don't have.
They don't ask God ...they don't acknowledge Him very much here in America anymore.
So I give you honor. You were a great example of leadership! The bible says the last shall be first, so I think you must be one of the firsts to receive your inheritance in heaven!
But you knew that you would inherit a great inheritance one day, didn't you?
Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you'll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you're serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being Christian doesn't cover up bad work. (Colossians 3:23-25 MSG)
You certainly didn't do shoddy work!
And you knew WHO you were working for!
