Accidents are just that!

Accidents are just that!

Joshua 20:1-9

I am a school bus driver and I pray that I will never hurt a child by accidentally backing into them, or something such as that. I have heard of school bus drivers having accidents where a child is killed.
If its negligence on our part we go to jail.
There is no city of refuge!

But there is a place of refuge to go to when we have accidentally hurt someone, when we have had an ACCIDENT! And that is in the arms of Jesus.

His huge outstretched arms protect you-under them you're perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm. (Psalm 91:4 MSG)

The world doesn't offer much compassion, if it's one of their children or whoever that was hurt. They judge harshly when it's their own, and maybe I would too, because it's negligence!
But it could happen to any of us!

God knew they needed a place to go to, do he designated cities of refuge for those who accidentally hurt someone!

"A person shall escape for refuge to one of these cities, stand at the entrance to the city gate, and lay out his case before the city's leaders. The leaders must then take him into the city among them and give him a place to live with them. (Joshua 20:4 MSG)

Judgement will come. They will have a trial and hopefully be judged fairly! In the meantime the city of refuge would protect them from the avenger!

These were the designated cities for the People of Israel and any resident foreigner living among them, so that anyone who killed someone unintentionally could flee there and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood without a fair trial before the congregation. (Joshua 20:9 MSG)

Justice will be served.
Were they drunk when they killed someone?
Or were they just out for a buggy ride that day they ran over a child?

It's seems if he or she is guilty they may have to stand before the family of the one they killed and someone in the family will kill them!

Accidents are just that, we shouldn't be the ones judging unless we are in the court room.

“Don’t judge others, or you will be judged. You will be judged in the same way that you judge others, and the amount you give to others will be given to you. (Matthew 7:1, 2 NCV)

When we mess up, do something stupid, accidentally hurt someone....there is a place of refuge where we can find forgiveness!
Take it home to Him!

Yes, because God's your refuge, the High God your very own home, (Psalm 91:9 MSG)

God bless!
