II Peter 3:14 Making every effort
Are we, as a Christian and disciple of Christ, to make every effort to be as comfortable as possible? No!!! We are to make every effort to be as spotless, blameless as possible! Why? Because we love the Lord!
I do not look at or desire other woman not because I don't like beautiful woman but because I love my wife and desire that she be happy. If I were to ever cheat on her, I know how much it would devastate her and I can't have that!!!
In the same way, I would want to keep myself as blameless as possible because I know how much the Lord would be hurt through each if my sin. And I can't have that!!! It's not the fear but the love that drives my efforts!!!
