When We Flunk-Pastor Robinson
*Numbers 20 talks about when Moses really messed up. He lead them to a place where there was no water.
-You can't blame the Israelites for being pissed off with Moses.
-They were giving him an earful, knowing that it was Moses who lead them to Zen aka the desert. No food or water.
*Moses tried to counteract that with saying they ought to trust The Lord.
-Moses just had a talk with God that He was going to provide from him.
*That's why we come to church on Sunday, so when we are going through our desert we need to hear from God.
*But Moses went off on the Israelites when he came from his high time with God.
-When we get really mad, we go off and say things that we shouldn't.
*So Moses picked up something and hit a rock that started pouring out water.
-While this may seem like crisis was averted, he did exactly opposite what God asked him to do.
-He got in trouble and failed God.
*God told Moses because he failed to do what God told him to do he wouldn't see the promise land.
*Moses failure teach us 3 things:
-Our failures aren't always caused by something that we did.
-Our failures aren't always about us.
-We will flunk more than once.
~It doesn't take much for us to fail. Because we aren't always into the details and don't let God be in the details, we can fail more than once.
*But there is some good news: Failing does not make you a failure.
-We can experience the verb failing, but it doesn't makes us the noun, a failure.
*We have to learn how to face failure.
-We may not be where we thought we would be or have everything we think we should have it, as long as we don't miss God we are NOT a failure in God's sight.
-Because God knows we will fail, he sent Jesus so that when we flunk, we will NOT be a failure.
