Authority to trample on serpents
The people of the world daily lives in fear of satan, sin and darkness. Fear of sickness, death, failure and every work of darkness. The world does not know God so it's not surprising that the world is scared of the power of evil. When you don't know the power of God you will fear the power of the devil. So it is kind of to be expected if the people of the world lives in fear of darkness and the power of darkness.
However it is a totally different and sad matter when the believer in Christ lives in fear of darkness and the power of darkness. How can we live in fear of what has been killed. You probably have every reason to fear a live snake but it is an error to fear a dead snake. Jesus Christ has conquered sin and satan. Satan stole the authority God gave to man. He stole man's authority in the garden of Eden. Christ retook and restored man's authority back to him in the garden of Gethsemane. He defeated satan and restored power and authority back to man. Every true believer has FULL unlimited authority over satan and the kingdom of darkness for we are the light.
We are the light and we are to rule over darkness and every work of darkness. We have authority over darkness. We have authority over sickness, poverty, disease and failure. So when we tell cancer to flee it must flee. We tell poverty live, it must live. Light always pushes out darkness. Darkness does not contend or argue with the light. God has given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions ( agents or powers of darkness). Meaning they are subject to our authority in God. The believer is not to be chased and harassed by witches or demon. He/she has authority over them. No longer will we be buffeted and harassed by poverty, sickness and lack. We are on top. The head and not the tail. Conquerors and not the conquered. Victors and not victims. It's time to start living in and exercising our God given authority.
Arise out of that place of defeat and struggle and take your proper place in Christ. In Christ you have authority over satan so you do not have to fear what darkness or the powers of darkness can do to you for you are the light. Light always drives out darkness. You have been given authority in Christ. Use it to the glory of God.
