Jesus > Religion. So please don't put religion or religious people first. He is your high Priest, you don't need another so called "priest" to be a go-between for you. Go directly to Him, the Giver of life.
Seek to bless God more than to bless anyone else, and then to bless others.
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others.." (niv)..Yup, "Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves" (Philippians 2:3 nlt). It's a better way to go.
Yeah.. let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. If I practice Matthew 6:33 and help others gain what they really need and deep down long for, then God Himself (Who no one can out-give..) will make sure that I get all that I need and deep down really long for. It really is more blessed to give than to receive, even though the world says differently.
Don't give wrongly - some do. Have right motives, thoughts and uplifting good gifts when you do this. Spirit-directed giving and service is real good and will never conflict with what the Bible clearly teaches.
In a world that says: Get all you can, can all you get and sit on the rest.. just remember that the Dead Sea is dead because it takes in, but gives out nothing from what it freely receives.

Be different from those who are dead and selfish, yes from the majority who are constantly on-the-take instead of on-the-give.. in Christ. Allow Him in, allow Him to give to you as you grow in Him, and then allow Him to flow through you to others.. to edify and add real value to others, and to give life to others as you point to the Giver of life. As you lovingly and unashamedly share His Gospel with them.. simply leading them to God's Solution - Jesus Christ. KnowGod.org
