What is the best gift?
It is the gift that is most needed with that people, at that specific time and specific place where it is needed. God is a need meeting God, therefore we believers also need to be a need meeting people as He does His work through us.
Stop and do a 'gift' study, prayerfully looking at the full surrounding contexts in your Bible today. Ask informed and in faith. Be real, be practical, be biblical and be not spooky-whacko-scary in your application.. for He is winsome. Jesus ain't religious or bizarre (never has been), so please don't go sideways on us.
Before all else.. turn and by faith receive God's best Gift (Jesus) for free, Who still gives gifts to people, and then let Him make you good gift to His Body the Church.
Remember that when God gives you a gift, He has more than blessing you in mind. He has others in mind as well.
Become most satisfied with God's Greatest Gift today.. before even using that gift. Yes, more than with all His other gifts, fall in love or re-fall in love with God's Son. As you get candid with, get thoroughly intimate with, get real honest with and as you focus on and look to Him to meet all of your needs today, just become more satisfied with Christ. In Heaven He means far more to His people than any gift does.
Feelin' so grateful for Jesus. "Thanks be to God for His indescribable Gift!" (nas)."for His inexpressible Gift!" (esv).."for His Gift too wonderful for words!" (2 Corinthians 9:15 nlt).
And earnestly thank God for all His gifts. Take em not for granted.
Can I say in again?.. Become more satisfied in your relationship of worship with Jesus than with all other good things.. yes, more than in simply working for Him (which can also be good), or with His calling for you, or with His other gifts in your life. People who get overly enamored with good gifts from Him can grow lukewarm in their relationship with Him.
Gifts rightly applied can indeed be a beautiful thing, but He is far better. Become most satisfied with Jesus Christ Himself starting now. Be in the Spirit on the Lord's day and on every day - walk in thie Spirit. Be with Him early and listen to His Word. Never forget Mary and Martha? Who was commended by Him at that time when He was in their home? You know.
