please pray

for the UK parliament, that wisdom will prevail tomorrow (tuesday 5th) (note posted 4th UK time) when there will be a vote on the issue of whether the UK national government will make "gay marriage" legal.
There already exists scope for a homosexual couple to register in a civil Register Office their relationship (as a sexually active co-habiting couple) which is then known as a "Civil Partnership". Civil Partners enjoy the same rights as a heterosexual married couple enjoy as a result of marriage, under UK law. So there is no need to create a new status that Civil Partners could acquire (pro- campaigners intend the proposed new status to be known as "marriage"), because equality under law already exists.
Although pro- campaigners deny it, it is widely thought that the Bill (proposal for a law) is intended to function like a "stepping stone halfway across a river", progress towards a goal at a later stage, and that the long term goal is that if tomorrow's Bill is made law, to later introduce another Bill (then make that also become a law) forcing churches to conduct "gay marriages" (the Bill to be debated & voted on tuesday allows churches to be exempt from a requirement to allow "gay weddings" on their premises).
There is no point in changing the name of Civil Partnership to Marriage.
I am not gay. i am also not homophobic. I agree with Civil Partnership being available in Register Offices. (I see no point in criminalizing it, live and let live).
But i do not agree with the attempt to redifine the word "Marriage" to make the word mean something it does not mean.
Whatever happened to gays wanting "to be out & proud"? Why camouflage Civil Partnership, & pretend something is what it is not?
Please pray for UK's Members of Parliament, that they will have the sense and moral courage to vote against the Bill on Tuesday 5th February 2013.
Thank you for reading this.
Bless you.
