Youth may be admired for vigor, but gray hair gives prestige to old age. (Proverbs 20:29 MSG)
Is this suppose to make me feel better about getting old?
I imagine whoever wrote it was past the age of strength and vigor! It's not all that gratifying really, to have grey hair and be able to say you've earned it. Big deal.
Don't you love it when someone says you're beginning to look more and more like your mother!
I'd like to give them something to think about!
Don't ever say, "I'll get you for that!" Wait for God ; he'll settle the score. (Proverbs 20:22 MSG)
But I can't! Cuz I'm a Christian! But still.... I'd like to!
It's a mark of good character to avert quarrels, but fools love to pick fights. (Proverbs 20:3 MSG)
I have more than myself to think about. I have God's name to think about!
Lots of people claim to be loyal and loving, but where on earth can you find one?
(Proverbs 20:6, MSG)
I have my children not to embarrass.
God-loyal people, living honest lives, make it much easier for their children.
(Proverbs 20:6, 7 MSG)
It's just that today I feel ornery and old and fat.
I should be glad I'm in as good as health as I am! Fibromycrapia ... sn unexpected seizure, oh waaa.. Here I am whining!
I need to be more thankful!
The very steps we take come from God; otherwise how would we know where we're going?
(Proverbs 20:24 MSG)
Would a big back account and all that
it can buy make me feel better?
There is gold and abundance of costly stones, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel. (Proverbs 20:15 ESV)
That's not really doing it for me either. Can you tell?
I have neither... Gold OR knowledge!
We're doing a study on ATTITUDE
at our church.
Wonder if I'll pass.
The Lord looks deep inside people and searches through their thoughts. (Proverbs 20:27 NCV)
I wonder if He peeked in at my thoughts ...and got out of there fast!
Oh Lord... YOU know I know better! I'm in a mood!
I'm not ungrateful! Really, I owe you all that I have !
That you even attempt to work on me amazes me!
I know I need an attitude adjustment. I'm just asking that you take it easy on me, please!
The Lord looks deep inside people and searches through their thoughts. Hard punishment will get rid of evil, and whippings can change an evil heart.
(Proverbs 20:27, 30 NCV)
Oooh- I know I have it coming!
