Greater Love...

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends."
- John 15:13

This is my favorite verse in the whole world. When I autograph my CD's, business cards, papers for people, etc., I ALWAYS write this verse underneath my name. It is such a wonderful verse! Not many people have this kind of love for their "friends." Today, friendships are only an inch deep and aren't worth a dime. I knew a girl when I was young, who was like that. She had ALL of the friends. But then one little thing someone does, and, "We aren't speaking anymore!" ...Oh brother! I always thought that was really dumb, because I was so close with my best friend. We had only got in arguments like 2-3 times, and never actually fought. We had only been mad and not told each other but we knew. It is the best friendship I could ever hope for (other than Christ). The other girls I knew weren't close enough to amount to anything. It was sad, actually. It seemed like you couldn't have a friend who wasn't in your "group." So the populars went with the populars, the dorks went with the dorks, the geeks went with geeks, regulars with regulars, and so on. The guys, not so much. They never really fought that much. But the girls! Oh. My. Gracious. You do ANYTHING and they would get REALLY MAD!! You don't wear the right BRAND and they're mad about something! The reason people are like this is because most kids today aren't saved. I still pray for that girl.

So what do you think? How are your friendships? Love enough to die for? Or cool enough to hang out with for a few years?
