The Sin offering points to Jesus

Moses wrote procedures for holiness that were to be administered by the Levites in the Israelites' worship of God. The sin offering was to be handled with great respect. It was a voluntary act of atonement that a person would do to restore their relationship with God.

This is what Jesus did for us. The offerings would have to be done over and over to reconcile the person to God. Jesus became the sin offering once and for all. This would be particularly important for the Jewish Christians after the temple was destroyed in AD 70, which caused the end of animal sacrifices.

Jesus atoned for our sins through His death. We are restored in our relationship with the Father because of His work and only because of His work. Nothing we could ever do would bring about our salvation. Thank You, Jesus for what you did. We are forever grateful.
