Don't return to your vomit!

As a dog returns to his own vomit, So a fool repeats his folly. (Proverbs 26:11 NKJV)

I've seen that- a dog throwing up and then eating it! If you wasn't sick before, you would be after that! Yuck!
How could he!
What would make him do that!

I don't know the answer.
Maybe it's because he doesn't know any better. Maybe he thinks he needs it, or maybe because he liked it!

Christ is comparing us going back into sin ---to this!

What they did is like this true saying: “A dog goes back to what it has thrown up,”
(2 Peter 2:22a NCV)

We now have new clothes, a new home being built, a future of eternity in heaven with Jesus - why would we ever want to play with the devil again?
Why would we go back to that old master?

Is it because we don't know any better? Do we think we need that lifestyle? Those friends? Maybe because... we like it!

Its like a dirty pig who's been cleaned and turns around and goes for a roll in the mud! He was smelling sweet but now he stinks again!

and...After a pig is washed, it goes back and rolls in the mud.”
(2 Peter 2:22b NCV)

Dont go back to a roll in the hay!
Don't go back to the vomit! That life of drugs, crime, unfaithfulness!
Don't go back to stinking sin!
You're more than a dog or a pig !
You know better! You are more than a conqueror!

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
(Romans 8:37 NKJV)

And more than that you're a child of the King!
When you play in the mud you not only make yourself look bad, you make Him look bad too!

Now go have some steak and potatoes!
