God has a gift for you!

As I make my coffee this morning, I anticipate sitting down and enjoying that coffee with God!
I anticipate His Word and what He will say to me! It is my biggest joy in life to be able to sit and commune with God!

Did you realize that to enjoy something is a precious gift from Him?
Yeah, it is! Because without this generous gift from God, you are going to be pretty frustrated and unsatisfied in this life.

It's Friday, and today many people will be getting their paychecks and will purchase something enjoyable!
But they won't be able to enjoy it!
It won't do what they hope it will!

You'll have wealthy people buying anything they desire today!
They will buy it and then perhaps they'll toss it aside in a few weeks, frustrated with it! They can't really enjoy it!

God gives great wealth, riches, and honor to some people; they have everything they want. But God does not let them enjoy such things; a stranger enjoys them instead.
This is useless and very wrong. (Ecclesiastes 6:2 NCV)

Soon they sell it and some poor person gets it and is ecstatic with it, finding great enjoyment in it!
This don't seem right!
But...this has nothing to do with wealth or the lack of it. This has to do with them and God, and " IF" He gives them the gift of ENJOYMENT!

"Come on" you ask, "why would God withhold a gift of enjoyment! That seems cruel"!

because no one can eat or enjoy life without him. If people please God, God will give them wisdom,
knowledge, and joy.
(Ecclesiastes 2:25, 26a NCV

Hmmm... To those who please Him
he gives the gift of enjoyment!

But sinners will get only the work of gathering and storing wealth that they will have to give to the ones who please God.
(Ecclesiastes 2:26b NCV)

(So people that don't please Him work their buns off for nothing! )

So all their work is useless, like chasing the wind.
(Ecclesiastes 2:26b NCV)

Well , we know what doesn't please God. Leaving Him out of our lives doesn't please him!
Living like Hell doesn't please Him!
Working like we can earn our salvation doesn't please Him!
Without faith you can't please Him!

Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him.
(Hebrews 11:6 NCV)

Without faith we can't please God and without pleasing God we can't enjoy life! Faith pleases God!

And if you're thinking-well, I have things money can't buy, I have my family and friends, and you're right, the best things ARE free, but without Gods gift of enjoyment, you WON'T really enjoy what He's given you!

A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he. (Ecclesiastes 6:3 NIV)

It's as if this is all for nothing if we don't have God and can't enjoy what He's blessed us with!
If we can't enjoy our life we're are compared to a still born child ...who will never get to experience any of God's enjoyment!

My husband and I look forward to spending Friday nights out together.
We've worked hard all week- we want to have a good meal out and enjoy that meal and each other!

Everyone’s toil is for their mouth, yet their appetite is never satisfied. (Ecclesiastes 6:7 NIV)

But our night will not bring us satisfaction if we don't take Christ along! If He's not in our hearts, in our car, at our table... we won't really enjoy anything and will be unsatisfied!

It doesn't matter how wise you are,
how smart, great and gifted you are!
Without the gift of enjoyment you're just like someone who's foolish.

What advantage have the wise over fools? What do the poor gain by knowing how to conduct themselves before others?

We're all the same without God! But with Him we are set apart from the world!
Theres no reason to fight Him on this!
It is the way it is and that's just the way it is!

Whatever happens, happens. Its destiny is fixed. You can't argue with fate. (Ecclesiastes 6:10 MSG)

Accept His gift to you! Don't be rude
and toss it aside!
Accept His work on the cross, accept His death and resurrection, accept His gift of eternal life and the ability to enjoy it!

Do you want to stay home tonight and enjoy being there?
Ask God to be there with you!
Do you want to enjoy a good meal with your friend, your spouse, or whoever tonight?
Invite God to go along with you!
Then have the faith to believe He will go!
That would probably please Him just fine!
